Octatrack "Track Mute" problem

Hello,

I know this topic has been discussed several times a few years ago, but I’d like to hear some current opinions and workarounds.

Currently, when using “Track Mute”, all audio is cut off, including the FX tail.

My current solution is to set the tracks as “plays free” with the trig option “ONE2”. All these tracks are quantized so I stay in rhythm while grooving.
Unfortunately, I found that when the tracks are activated via the “Tracks Mode”, all active tracks are stopped when changing patterns.

Is there still no corresponding solution for this with the current OS version 1.4 or do you have other solutions?

I’m already thinking about getting the Novation Launchpad Pro MK3, since it has an integrated step sequencer, which I think I can work better with.

Do you mean track mute?

Part means something very specific in octaspeak.

Crossfader scene to amp vol solves loss of FX tails on mute.

Ah yes, thank you. I edited that in the description.

I will try that with the crossfader and amp vol settings, but i think thats not the best solution for me. In a techno set sometimes i want to toggle the kick drums, snares, hats and play them individual for variation.

Easy to set up as punch in punch out fx rather than fader.

What do you mean?

Scene A1 fader to left. neutral.
Scene A2, fader to left mutes track 1.
Scene A3, fader to left Mutes track 2

Etc.

So long as your fader is to the left, all scene A button combos work as mutes.

Good idea, that helps me to improve a little things, thank you for this tip.

But in my case the kickdrum i use for example has no FX Tail, its more a bit distorted and the bass rolls a bit. So the AMP Vol trick does not work really for me in that case.

Are there any other suggestions?
