Octatrack Sound Question:
There is a clear difference whether I operate a device through the OT or independently.
…I don’t want to have a discussion about it OT quality. It is like it is…
I only care about the correct and best use.
Example: Syntact loses in the bass range and the mids are also slightly different.
I use OT as a mixer and as a loop station. So doing without OT is not an option.
Question:
What is your workaround to get a better sound only through OT?
(Filter settings, equalizer and so on?)
Without additional devices.
[I already have an AH.
I also know OTO Boom and smc]

Are you sure your project is empty? Are you sure you’re not sending it pre EQ from your mixer?
I’m no professional musician, but I hear no difference in sound with/without the Octatrack.
Get a decent level coming in, turn off time stretch if not needed.

Don’t use Filter or Lofi if you want something neutral. They color the sound even with neutral settings…

Like others have touched on: why not deactivate fx (as in set to ‘none’), paying attention to fx on the master that your audio could be running through. Deactivating fx in these two locations would get you to as neutral a place as you can: you could then add to taste, just accepting that some fx do colour the audio even at open/neutral/dry settings.

I got the bug!
I’m sorry people!
For a year I thought OT is weak in the bass range.
In fact, I have phase cancellation in my Mackie VLZ mixer (but why??).
WTF.

Funny enough I was going to say check for phase cancellation - could be cabling issue?

Do you use TS or TRS cables ?

TS and a Mackie 1642 VLZ Pro.
Syntakt --> vlz --> sub1-2 --> OT -->vlz --> AH
I reconnected the cables and tried other ways.
suddenly the problem was solved.
I do not know why.
I didn’t manage to reproduce the error again.
…I have to read the manual tonight.
