Octatrack Save Projects and Naming

Hi,
I searched here but found no hints, whether there is an easy way, to enter a Date for example into the filename without the need of entering every letter…
As there is an autonaming for saved samples that contains a date I hope that there might be a way to apply this to “save as” Projects as well…
Is there a button combo that enters a date?
regards
Oliver

I was afraid ot this answer
Thank you anyway

You could “pretend” to save a sample just to copy the prefilled date filename and then paste it as project name, though…

you do know the function thing for faster typing right?

Doesn’t a date automatically pop up when you start a new project? The one I just opened last night was “Project 161025”

yes, I am aware of both, function typing and the default date.
But default only comes on a new Project, not on a “Save as” Project…
I will try the copy and paste as I am lazy like…

If you save a sample with a name to a Record buffer, you then easily have a “template”’ by which you can save subsequent samples with different increments.

So save same “Pad001” to R8. After which you can easily change “Pad001” to “Pad002”, “Pad003” ect.
