Octatrack sample chopping n triggering

how does the octatrack compare to something like an mpc for chopping and triggering samples or is it more suited to managling and manipulation?
can an apc or something similar be connected to trigger them finger drum style?

well… this is everyone’s dream to trigger slices with drum pads trough midi on OT, but unfortunately this is not possible to trigger slices on a specific track. You can trigger different tracks with drum pads via midi. But there is only 8 tracks to trigger that means 8 samples…

But…

You can trigger slices with trigger buttons. When you slice a track the slices will be spread across the triggers to a division of how many slices you set.
It is not like mpc finger drumming but it is quite similar once you set your mindset to a strait line of triggers instead of pad grid.

Despite the fact that you can’t trigger slices of a specific sample via midi on OT there are so many other ways of doing that.

Check some forum topics on that. Or if you dare, check the matrix chains…
