After working with my new Analog Four a bit, it occurred to me that I really like (and understand) how the “kits” work in conjunction with sounds, and especially that they can be linked to a pattern.
What if we could have the same paradigm (maybe not exactly the same) in addition to (or alternative to) “parts” on the Octatrack? Seems to me this would be a great solution for those folks who want to assign certain sounds to a pattern. And with kits you still get the advantage of being able to switch the sound in one kit and have all patterns linked to it reflect the change in one step, in similar fashion to how parts work. This would also allow the mixture of many more sounds per pattern.
Shoudln’t be too hard to program, Elektron. Right?
I just use the file folders to organize my samples. Then you can use function right arrow in the sample slot list to scroll to a different sample (of the same type).
The trick/hard work is getting your samples organized, but once you come up with a folder/sub folder routine it makes life easier on the OT.
Would be nice if you can switch from A1 to A2 to A3…to A16 just in the same way as you would switch from A1 to B1 to C1…to P1.
Scene assignment saved in pattern would also be useful.
Has anyone tried to set scene assignments per pattern with cc55 cc56 via the midi tracks of the OT? Midi out to midi in.
This works via the monomachine midi tracks but I haven’t tried this on the OT standalone yet.
