Hi, my OT has stopped auditioning samples before loading into a sample slot. I have to load them into a track’s slot first and then they will audition (Func+Yes). Any thoughts as to why?
What kind of machine do you have loaded at the Track you’re trying to audition from?
not sure how new you are to the OT, but I’m kinda new and i had this problem…turned out i had left the amp and/or level all the way down haha.
i also have a question about the octatrack auditioning samples…
is it possible to hear looped single-cycle waveforms using [function] + [enter/yes]? even when I know I have the flex machine set to loop = on, and I’ve been using single cycle waveforms already, all i hear is a “click” as if it wasn’t looping.
maybe also worth noting is that i say i have triggers on the sequence and the waveform is playing properly…then I can still cycle through the folder using [function] + right or left at the appropriate screen.
but audition, no.
it doesn’t matter if i have Static or Flex loaded… auditioning as of now can only be done by loading the samples and the sequencer playing it from a Trig. So, not auditing at all. BTW, latest beta OS 1.25b
you get a different type of audition when you are in edit mode, for me with chains, it will loop, but not the individual single cycle wave, in teh slice or edit menu it will only play through once - i just use the chromatic mode to do the auditioning at wave level - it’s not looping for me at the assignment page (where it’d be most useful) - it’s all fairly new to me, so there may well be a solution …
it works fine for me in 1.25b (not a beta btw, think it’s just a revision)
check your mixer if you are auditioning via headphones & try auditioning with Cue+Yes - is there a smiley face for the sample when you are in the load menu, in case format is incompatible (but it wouldn’t load i’d guess)
look at your preview with fx toggle in case you have a closed filter
