Has anyone seen a situation where the Octatrack mkii just starts up with a blank screen and is stuck on this?
I ran it in Test Mode, and all is not well.
Test mode results stop at the 2nd line, "USB ULPI: (blank) "
I thought it may be a common issue with the newer (black) hardware?
I have an original mkii in grey and never had ANY problems with it in 5 years of owning it.
My guess is it’s a hardware problem, as I tried with no CF card, different CF card, and different power supply. All the same result.
I was able to (once) get it to load normally after starting up like this, but I don’t know how I did that.
I had the same issue on my grey OT mk2 a few times, but after reboot everything works fine. Try to install different OS maybe?

Maybe a loose cable inside?

maybe, but it didn’t take a knock or get moved, after working perfectly for many months in a row in the same position.
reboot as in just power on/off, no startup in demo mode or anything?
I don’t know how to upgrade it from this condition, maybe in test mode, i’ll see.
Elektron want to look at the unit. This means they are probably aware that something has gone. USB controller or CPU PCB according to support.
So sending it in for repair
