Octatrack MK2 with MC6 midi controller mapping issues

Hi all,

I hope everyone’s all good this Monday morning.

I’m having a few mapping issues on my MC6 midi controller, If anyone has any experience or knowledge they’d like to share, that would great, as this is a little beyond my pay grade.

I want to be able to cycle forward and back through Trigs 1-8. Then once highlighted and selected I would then like to hit record/stop for that specific Trig only.

I’ve managed to set up the following on the MC6:
A - Rec/Stop (Midi channel 1 only)
B - Forward cycle through Trigs 1-8
C - Reverse cycle through Trigs 8-1

But I can’t link the Rec/Stop and Forward/Back cycles together. Is there such a way?

I’ve set up my Octrack MK2 this way no problem by using REC1 for Record/Stop. And I cycle through the Trigs by hitting and highlighting the numbered Trig I want to record to.
I’ve attached a few screengrabs so you can see how I’ve set up the three actions on the Morning Star software.

Thanks in advance.
Dan

Just in case anyone had any ideas. Not to worry as I’ve sent the midi pedal back so wont be using this method.

@SoundToucher what do you mean by Forward and Back ?

Forward cycle through Trigs 1-8

Track selection I suppose ?
Trigs are the 16 sequencer steps, or trigger tracks…

These notes are for track selection.

G#4 (68) Active track up A1 (33) Sequencer Stop A4 (69) Active track down

If so, I don’t really understand what was the MC6 mapping problem…

At first I thought you were talking about reverse playback or sequencer reverse…:content:
