What a weird ass crash! At first it was when I pushed E, now it’s D. And now it’s randomly any of the encoders, not always the same. Device just reboots.
Anyone had this happen? I’ve had my OT for at least a decade and it’s been in heavy use.
Maybe formatting factor settings will help? Rebooting doesn’t help, nor does changing projects.
Happened to me when my power socket was too loose…
It was rebooting when I was moving OT…
…could be maybe there’s a loose cable inside? 
i’m sure someone else will chime in with some info if this already happened
First thing to do is not panic.
Run it in test mode, see if any errors show up. If not-
Its unlikely a software issue. Raise a ticket with Elektron support.
Meanwhile.
Check power connection as mentioned above.
Check ribbon cable that connects the power board to the controller board. This is easy, you can do it yourself. Allen key, patience, and a flat surface is all you need. Go slow go steady.
If that doesnt fix it-
Seperate the UI board (the board with all the knobs and buttons) and visually inspect each encoder solder point, look for corrosion, stains, anything that looks like it should not be there. Also check the diodes than run between each encoder. Its more likely that those little buggers will crap out before the encoders do.
Test with a multi meter if you have one.
If you find anything that looks visibily suss, contact elektron and seek repair (or do it yourself if you have a soldering iron)
(Similar thing happened to mine, but it was the sequencer buttons, random crashes. Turns out it was a corroded diode. Simple fix)
This was it, amazing that someone else has had the same thing happen! Took me a while to check it, Im pretty far into making a song and the thought of losing it all made me pretty anxious. I guess I should buy a back OT.
Happened to a few people ! Someone give me the tip to bend the piece of metal inside the socket, and it worked ! Pretty easy with a thin flat screw driver.

Yeah, I do a backup every now and then, was just worried my OT was shitting itself completely.
