I have seen this topic but have yet to see a solution and Elektron support has yet to answer my question. When I use the Octatrack as a MIDI sequencer it will cause certain instruments to “stick.” It works perfectly with the Behringer Model D, but with both the Behringer Pro 1 and 2600 it causes the instrument to get stuck playing a drone and the only way I have found to get the drone to stop is to turn off the instrument and turn it back on. It is not a midi note off issue because even if I unplug the midi cable, the instruments will continue to play a drone until I turn them off. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

What makes you think that disconnecting the midi cable would cause a hanging note to stop?
I guess the devices which are hanging don’t interpret MIDI note on messages with velocity 0 correctly as note off messages. While it is uncommon to use note on messages with velocity 0 (like the OT does) instead of dedicated note off messages it is still valid midi and part of the standard. So IMHO it’s Behringer to blame here for incorrectly implementing the standard.
As workaround you could use a midi processor/translator in between.

The OT is not the cause of the problem. Its the Berhinger gear and the associated lack of proper midi support.

From what I can find, it appears that the issue has to do with sending MIDI clock from the octatrack to the 2600. I had the same issue with the Pro 1, but apparently it was addressed in a firmware update. There are a few work arounds using MIDI processor/translators, but as you stated it is a issue with the instruments midi implementation. I would prefer an firmware update instead of having to purchase another piece of gear. I appreciate the input. thank you.
Get on to Behringer and pester them to fix it.

This was sorted months ago - update your OS with the SynthTribe app - it wasn’t to do with Vel 0 handling but some other programming/processing/timing issue
I can’t trip it up with somewhat excessive Midi (along with/without clock) thrown at it fwiw

Thank you. When I initially downloaded synthtribe via the app store, I thought it was only compatible with IOS devices. After your reply I went back and found the correct download, updated the 2600 and as expected, everything works fine. Thank you for taking the time to help.

Most, if not all, MIDI sequencers use Note On with velocity zero for Note Off because it allows them to take advantage of Running Status.

Let me unbury the dead: I just encountered a midi stuck note.
I’m sequencing the DN from an OT thru MIDI tracks and the note stays stuck after I press Stop (or Double Stop) and I can reproduce it.
It happens only if I press Stop when the DN is playing a long note and if the press happens like in the middle of the note (if that makes sense).
A note played from OT, set to LEN=INF?
Nope, Length=38.
In the sequence it plays during 6 steps before another note comes in. It stucks when I press after 3 or 4 steps of playing.
Could you check midi data sent by OT with a midi monitor ?
This gonna ask some rewiring thinking so i can insert the laptop between OT and DN.
Hmmmm: Could this be related to a question I was just about to post to the forum: When I try to play the LXR-02 with the arpeggiator, the LXR only picks up the first note and thereafter can’t be played by the arpegiator at all and only picks up every 5th note or so from the keyboard.
Does it works properly if you sequence notes like an arp? (arp off)
Did you try to change arp note length in arp page?
Pretty sure Digis can’t be used as midi din/usb inferface, as far as I remember, but I’m tired and won’t check. 
I just checked now but… I don’t really now what I’m looking for to be honest.
On the problematic channel, no sign of any note sent or received with Inf length.
