Are you responsible for this http://patcharena.com/first-ot-jam-octatrack-shruthi-1-elcap/
If so I bought an OT BECAUSE of you…
I loved your new track too. Have you got management? If not contact Robyns label.
YES!
Its helpfull to hear great tracks like this to realise you only need a few good sounds and a simple beat instead of over-complicating things with too many sounds as I do. It makes me think “I can do that, so why arn’t I”.
Dogma, this is funny, I bought the ElCapistan because of this video, spooky
Yeah, this grooves! Nice wok man.
Thanks guys!
Dogma, Yes thats me. I’m glad I’m partly responsible for your OT. It’s a brilliant machine!
J_C_Selector, Im glad you like it! I think its refreshing to work like this, with few elements. I work a lot in ableton too and its easy to lose focus when you don´t have any limits. I hope you enjoy the ElCap!
Hey mate
Great track, really sounds good!
I was wondering if you could give me some insight into how you connected all your stuff and used OT as the central hub (which I presume you did)?
I am trying myself to integrate my effect boxes to my setup, but finding it a little hard to make a definitive setup. Yours sound great, so maybe you could provide a little inspiration?
Thanks again.

Watching your video, I can see something I’d actually really like to see if there were to ever be an OT MKII:
A fine and a course XFader.
I’m often inclined to make large/fast sweeping gestures with the crossfader, but having another XFader tuned into more minute tweaking would be amazeballs.
I’d think Overbridge on a MkII would be a given, but something like that would actually justify a new model, worth keeping the older version and buying a new one. I’d have to buy some Depends after just watching a demo. The sound design possibilities would be endless.
YES very nice! Great work
Alexdecker, thanks man!
The setup is actually pretty straightforward. OT sends midi sync to AK and TR-8 , and also sends midi notes to the Juno-106 (chords). The AK provides the bassline, programmed with its internal sequencer. Juno-106 goes through Bigsky (reverb) and Elcapistan (tape delay).
Since I’m in the studio I multitrack everything with my Apollo so I can mix it properly.
Totally awesome !
I very much enjoy how you keep the number of elements in the track rather limited but still achieve an awesome sound.
Oh, and the chord progressions via pattern selection, neat idea.
