I bought this unit in Feb, this year NOT impressed. It is freezing when initially booting up, and I rarely get into the main screen. Freezing in boot attempts, will attempt more than once on it’s own. Sometimes will get into the main screen for lengths of 10 seconds up to 15 minutes, and then it freezes again and attempts a reboot.
Id suggest a full reset and trying with a diff CF card or at least backing an trying with a reformatted CF card. Hope this helps
I’d suggest isolating the CF card as an issue like Naked Bob says.
Do an empty reset. Power on holding [Func]; then press [2] for Empty Reset
Ideally this will isolate if the issue is the box, or the CF card.

Well I am going to reformat that card I had in it. I have a second 32Gb Kingston unused I have tried and it seems to be loading just fine. I will keep you posted on this, but I think it was the card not sure what happened I literally only have one loop on there just getting started.
OKAY bad news. It’s happening again with the new card. Am I doing something wrong? These were the best cards I could find. I can’t get it to load without a card either. I really need some advice here! Anything else I can do to help? Maybe try out a different flash card? What do you guys use?

I have an Octatrack that was working fine until now. All of a sudden when I boot the machine it freezes completely and no button will operate. I am running the latest OS 1.25H. Prior to this problem, I performed 2 file transfers via usb. I checked the CF card and could not get it to work with an external CF card reader. I checked the pins of the CF reader in the Octatrack, they look fine. I have hardly ever taken the card out and when I have taken the card out, I did so very carefully. I have tried to use another blank CF card formatted to FAT and the Octatrack also freezes on boot up. When I boot the Octatrack without a CF card it seems to be fine and it is “operational” i.e. the sequencer works, all menus are accessible and all Function button combinations work. The moment the CF card is inserted it freezes. I purchased this machine to finish projects and I am now stuck and cannot do anything. What went wrong? How can the machine change the behaviour from one minute to the next without anything else happening except powering it up or powering it down (always after the Project save was completed!) I am very disappointed and I find this hard to believe. Does anyone have any similar experience or tips to correct this issue?

Yes I contacted support and they gave me a phone number and I called the repair shop in the U.S. after talking with the guys they told me to send it to them in which case I did and they sent me a new one. It’s been working fine ever since. I had to create a strong case for it sending them detailed explanations and pictures in order for them to understand the severity and get me to send it to them. They paid for the shipping it was all good.
Hello everybody, I had a similar issue. My Octatrack freezes sometimes while I use it. The display freezes and it doesnt respond anymore. Turning it off and on again normally solves it. In 50hours+ working with the octatrack this only occured a few times. Maybe 10 times. Its not a big issue, but Im very much dependent on the machine and would hate it of the problems worsens after I lose my warranty. What would you guys do? Try sending it to Elektron?
I had the same issue and Elektron handled it for me quickly. Create a support ticket and get in touch with them.
After doing the new upgrade i had the same freezing few times…
