Ok, I have a small issue with my Octatrack syncing to Cubase. I have Cubase sending out MTC and MMC to the octarack. The octatrack will sync but will run at double the intended clock speed (e.g. if I transmit 120bpm, it goes to 240).

I have tried syncing my MPC1000 using the same clock source (MOTU Midi Express) and it runs at the correct clock speed.

I thought maybe it was receiving a duplicate clock message each tick, but that is not the case.

The obvious work around is to halve the clock speed, but that introduces some other issues.

Any one care to take a shot at what this could be?

If you go into scale setup on the OT, what does the number on the far right say?

Make sure you’re sending Midi Time Clock, (not Midi Time Code) set to 24 ppqn which is the standard. You can switch off MMC for the OT.
Also make sure that Master Scale on the OT is set to x1 (not 1/2 or x2).
Hope that helps

also verify that there is not a MIDI loop with the OT and the computer so that if the OT is both sending and receiving clocks, you could be getting twice and many clock messages and hence doubling the speed.

You guys rock.

I was sending Midi Time Code and Midi Time Clock.

Syncing great now.
