Octatrack encoder gets stuck?

Hey folks,

I got myself a brand new OT and noticed some differences to my older OT which I bought 2 years ago. The Octatrack came with a usb cable I haven’t seen before (the one with the red cloth mantle) etc.

Now, a thing I noticed that I didn’t have with the old OT is the following:

when I push an encoder, it sometimes happens that the encoder gets stuck for a brief moment, sometimes a second or two before it pops back. It happens especially to the outer right ones and quite randomly. It depends on how long I hold it pushed and maybe the angle at which I am releasing it, but it doesn’t feel good :smiley: Has this happened to anyone of you, too?

I’d just like to know if this is a thing that happens to new units and gets better over time or if I should just get a replacement unit as long as it’s possible.

i haven’t had exactly that but i got a secondhand one recently and a track select button was getting stuck and an encoder wasn’t grabbing all the number in the range so i had to send it back electron replaced the two parts on the day they received it… the OT was gone for a week because of shipping time but it was worth it very good service…it would be worth asking them directly in the support section…

For anyone having this problem:

I talked to Elektron and they suggested to switch units in the shop.
It didn’t get better over time, so that’s what I did.
