I’m also considering buying an ERM Multiclock. From my understanding, Multiclock is great to sync external gear having their own sequencer.
But what if I want to sequence external synth without sequencer from MIDI tracks in my DAW? If I’m using Multiclock to sync clock of DAW/external gears, will it also improve timing of MIDI notes/CC sent from the DAW (throught the Multiclock and/or from my other MIDI interface)?
I’m jumping on this a little late but I recently got a e-rm multiclock, I’m trying to use ableton as the master clock and run the e-rm plugin to send a signal to my rytm and octatrack. I have a rme raydat running to a ferrofish a16. When I send the signal it’s doesn’t sync very well and eventually cuts out. I have a dedicated output for the clock in ableton but think the routing may be wrong in the rme total mix software. Has anyone else used the rme total mix software to route there audio like above ? I’m really struggling to get his all sync’d up.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as I know this should not be happening
No RME here. But do you route it out in mono ? Next thing : it can be to silent. You can try to get a higher signal with the Utility and also check the threshold setting for the incoming audio signal on the multiclock.
I’d been eyeing the E-RM Multiclock for a while, and finally pulled the trigger. Just gotta say: Damn. This thing is awesome. I have been frustrated for literally years working with Live + OT + other hardware. Though I was able to achieve good sync without the Multiclock, I realized that Live doesn’t compensate the the outgoing midi sync signal - so every time you add latency inducing plugins, no more sync. I’m just embarrassed it took me so long to figure that out. The Multiclock eliminates this deficiency entirely. My hybrid rig is like a single cohesive machine now, I love it. Just wanted to sing the Multiclock praises since I’m pretty psyched right now. Great customer service too.
I just got an ERM Multiclock and have a Digitone on pre-order (my first foray into Elektron)
In addition to sync, which will be sent from Pro Tools via the ERM plugin, I would like to integrate my other MIDI enabled devices to (a) access control of the Digitone with a MIDI (or USB) keyboard controller and Touché expression controller and (b) for the Digitone to send MIDI signals to my SE-02 synth and Strymon pedals (Big Sky, Mobius, Timeline).
Any help to understand the best way to set this up would be greatly appreciated. I also have an iConnect MIDI 4+ collecting dust somewhere but if possible would like to ditch it and streamline the setup as I will be on the road.
