Octatrack - copied .wavs come out high pitched and sped up, anyone know how to fix this issue?

Having a bit of trouble getting my .wavs into the octatrack - after copying the .wav file into the CF via the usb, the .wav files come out horrendously mangled in the OT! The pitch and tempo and far from close to the original file and I cannot find what the issue is. It sounds like the sample is being incredibly sped up when I playback on the OT, I just can’t find the parameter that fixes it.

I’ve scoured through the track parameters and everything seems to be in order, I’ve tried this audio file on a few different tracks, both flex and static, yielding the same results. I’ve also looked through the project settings to see if theres some CF card parameter I missed. Nothing yet but hoping someone recognizes the issue.

Thank you in advance elektronauts!

Edit: the sample is also 44.1 kHz

Hi, maybe try “Func + Playback” and then turn TSTR to OFF, see if that helps?

I tried that as well but good thought! Seems to be something weird with the way the audio is being read by the OT. May try to bounce the sample down again tonight see if it makes any difference, will post if so

try using Audacity to export a wav perhaps?

different app, new angle on the scenario …

if that did not work, maybe… try exporting a Signed 24 Bit .aif file from the Other Uncompressed files in the dialog export box

Make sure they are 44.1khz - anything else will be problematic

That seems to fix it, orginally I exported with Ableton, last nigh I re-exported the audio using pro tools and no issues! I did notice that the ableton bounce came out at 16-bit, rather than 24, which may have caused the sped up issue. Thanks for the suggestion and good to go now!
