The one major con of this setup is that the Octa samples do not respond to velocity, so it’s like the MPC’s “full level” mode for every track.
But if that’s not an issue, read the manual’s Appendix C on MIDI (pg 175). You’ll find that the note numbers below from the mpc or a daw would trigger the sounds or tracks as follows:
(24-35) | Track Trigs
(36-47) | Sample Trigs
