Octatrack as sound module?

Hello there

I´m working in an audio/video installation that it may requiere to use the OT as a soundmodule from ableton with a midi keyboard…

did anyone know if it is possible to use it this way?

Yes that will work.

Just create an external instrument track in Ableton and use the OT like a sampler module without the sequencer. OT is 8 tracks so you will probly want to use sliced samples per track.

To play the OT’s samples from external MIDI? Yes.
Although it puzzles me why would you do this if you are already using Ableton Live …

because I already have a set of samples processed etc on the OT… but we will use also light control via midi on ableton…so we need to do the whole project on Live…
