Octatrack as 'dj' decks

Looks like a good idea, I will give it a shoot  Thanks!!

I don’t dj, but am thinking that with timestrectch off the pitch knob will slow or speed up the recording, you could slow one down or speed one up, like records. Don’t know if the resolution is accurate enough but maybe there’s an lfo trick for finer changes…

If you use a scene you can get it a bit finer.

Have to pick this thread back up. I got my pioneer djm 250 today and hooked the octatrack up to it. Main to one channel and cue to the other. Loaded some of my tracks and a couple others onto it and had a load of fun!

I used it in a really simple way today, basically just looping the first part of the tracks, then letting the trigger go to play the song. Rest I did on the mixer.

Tomorrow I’ll see what fun things I can use the ot crossfader for. I also want to get a delay-looper going in case I want to have the end of a track keep going.

Any more ideas with this setup? Wanna set this up and have a project set and forget thing

Filters are a good one, cut lows and highs when mixing via the slider, gives a different sound, yeh looping sounds like a good idea. Is the the delay as a dub style delay, high pass the delay and put mix tight up on it. Have fun!!!

Is it possible to have a recorder setup for tracks 1 and 5 to get a loop going at the end of a track, but be able to select for which side the crossfader will fade to? Bit hard to explain, but at the moment I can only get it to fade both tracks into the recorded track, which wouldn’t work from a DJ perspective.
I have the OT hooked up to a mixer, so I don’t need the crossfader to transition. Would really want a ā€œlooperā€ for individual tracks though. Anybody?
