Octatrack + Ableton Transport Send/ Clock Recieve?

For tracking purposes i would like to slave my machines to ableton but have the octatrack transport buttons available to start/stop my machines.
So first i was thinking: Octatrack TRANSP SEND / CLOCK RECV ; Ableton Input/Output All ON , EXT ON
But that does not seem to do the trick.
My next Idea was this: Octatrack TRANSP RECV / CLOCK RECV
Ableton Input/Output All ON and mapping the Octatrack transport buttons to the ableton transport controls via remote.
Well, then i figuered out that the OT transport buttons do not send out CCs.
Its fairly simple with another midi controller but i don´t want to have another machine in my setup just to start transport.
Any idea on how to acomplish this?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

you could map a midi-note from the octatrack Midi-tracks to the play-button in live. another note for stop maybe…
you could then expand on that and add other mapped octa-notes to the same track (or another midi track) which triggers scenes or clips.

Thanks for the input.
I tried out your suggestion and it works as a workaround. What it does´t give you is the immediacy of using the transport controls. To start/stop the machine you need to select the midi channel first then find the right key to press, given you are in the right octave and have selected chromatic mode.
Triggering clips and other stuff that way is definitely something i will look into further.
Another idea was to remap the transport messages to cc in bomes midi translator, then mapping them to ableton transport. But that does not work because you would need to have transport send and recv enabled at the same time for the ot to transmit data. At least i could not make it work.
I´m starting to think about taking the expensive route and getting a multiclock or something like it. That way i could just slave ableton to the ot. It just seems to be a bit of an overkill in my situation but on the other hand might be a good investment in rock solid sync for years to come.
Let´s say i had another overbridge enabled elektron machine, could that slave ableton tightly. Or at least make it possible to slave the machines to ableton and have start/stop available from the machines?
