Custom DSP effects for the Elektron Octatrack MKII.
The Octatrack has two effect slots per track and a fixed menu of algorithms to put in them. This project writes new ones — original DSP56300 assembly — and delivers them by patching the stock OS image.
What runs today:
ChonVerb
BongDelay
The send bus -
All eight tracks feed one shared reverb and one shared delay, across both DSP cores. This is the part the hardware was not designed to do.
Judging by the name… does this project rely on some work done on OTO BAM’s algorithms? I have BAM and claim, that it is the best reverb that I ever had. It would be epic, if the algorithms were the same.
I’m curious if there is a way to make Claude’s “knowledge” of the OT’s software sharable with others. I’m not interested in developing for it … yet … but would love to start learning the inner workings. I’m sure it would take me a long time to go through it on my own, but Claude’s already been trained on this project.
This is absolutely fantastic news for proper gear!
Thanks for making this!
If possible, please fix the PART design…
It currently has 4 parts in a bank for 16 patterns.
Would be great if it had 16 parts in a bank. Parts could be selected with PART+16 step buttons combo.
Octatrack would become octatrack2 to me if this unnecessary design limitation would be fixed.
