OB, ableton and ARmkII

3rd serious long session to get this al to work. new to OB.
no signal on software track inputs in ableton.
in AR: route to main: all of
send to FX: all on

in the OB control panel the tracks monitor and the audio. in ableton no signal coming in on any channel.

in the vst it says: no device selected

i have been restatring and trying diiferent order of starting up things endlessly. tried different cables too.

this is frustrating

many times OB control panel stays on: Synchronising with the device, this can take a little while’. selecting anualy goes better.
in vst control panel i can not manually select.

is it correct i must run bothOB control panel and VST?

ableton i think is setup correctly in the preferences.

the stand alone control panel reacts to track select the first 2/3 times (changes to track) later not anymore.
in the overbridge manual all screens look different then from my OB version 2.0916Beta

i waited with commenting, but still not much progress after third day of trying :confused:
any tips very welcome

also confused with the similarity between the vst and the stand alone /control panel version.
i must change things in control panel, is correct?

one more general question: is it possible in OB in ableton to have coming in say 8 tracks to the main output L R, and a few separated on tracks in ableton?

in other words: not using all AR software channels, but some together, and some separated ?

p.s. when having a track working, OB signal comes in at minus 40 dB. :confused:
this is hardly a workable signal.
