Nudge tempo when midi synced to external source?

Hi,

It might be a stupid question but I didn’t find an answer anywhere…
I am using my OT as a slave to the midi clock (the other device is sending nothing but the clock/tempo - no transport or whatever…). The problem is that while the OT is synced to this external midi clock source, I can’t use the tempo nudge feature to get the OT in sync with the other device - the tempo is fine but they are slightly off beat and I have no way how to fix this situation…
Am I missing a point somewhere or I really can’t nudge the tempo when the OT is synced to an external midi clock source???
Thanks!

correct. Tempo nudging only works when set to internal clock.

If you cannot solve your sync issues by switching master clock devices around, consider using manual BPM-value based sync. Contrary to common internet knowledge, Its not impossibly hard to pull off.

There’s also the option of throwing money at the problem, ie. products like the ERM multiclock and other similar devices.

H-how? Thats a terrible design flaw :frowning: - I am able to receive the clock, but can’t do anything about it to utilize it properly and get the devices in sync?
Omg this is so disappointing :frowning:

Absolutely normal one !

For all sequencers with midi clock sync, you need transport START message to be synced. It works like this since around 30 years.

What is your master clock device ? Can’t it be slaved to OT ?

as mentioned above, you can’t do that when the OT is synced to an external MIDI clock. the device you’re using as a master should possibly send a START/STOP message together with the clock, if that’s not doable then try and change the way things are connected or maybe use a different device to act as a master (or use the OT)
