That’s quite some underselling right there, i saw them first from this TDC performance, probably not so long after it was on and my jaw hit the floor - i’d totally forgotten how sumptuous and hyper-real it sounds - it’s full of great tone/vibe, it’s impeccable, all three performers seduce you … great to see that one again!

oh boy … i need one of those so badly it hurts … the Soundtoys one can only satiate my dreams so far, wow, he’s rocking it my way … hadn’t seen this one although i knew he was a proponent … that’s basically an instrument ! what a video/legend

I had the same reaction and about 3 mins into this video I started looking up prices on Prime Times, which was sobering… :grimacing: … But indeed an awesome and inspiring performance!

oh, i wouldn’t even have bothered, undoubtedly unobtanium and likely not too readily cloned with that particular lofi character - and too niche by far for dreams of even a Behringer one

It’s way too big of course, but rather special indeed

I cannot understand why I like this tiny hotknobber so much.

This is possibly one of the best one-man live performances ever. Must have taken so long to prep.

Not so much of a fan of Superorganism these days, the comeback album just isnt as interesting as when they burst onto the scene in 2018. But this concert captures them at that early point where they were properly quirky and special. The overenthusiastic use of DIY musical instruments/sound effects is just jaw dropping.

I think the tiny desk concerts format work best for the more off beat stuff. The big band in a small space doesn’t really give much more for me than other slick jams like “Live from Darryl’s House”. This is just about perfect for me

WOW! This one is outstanding. Really loved the musical conversation between Hiromi and the trumpeter Adam O’Farrill in that first piece. Improvisation at its finest!

Tiny desk is a funny one. It is at its best when you get proper amazing and experienced instrumentalists and vocalist from around the world.

I didn’t like a a lot of the performances above… Tom Tom Club, Superorganism, Mitski, Tom Miller were all a bit overly affected for my tastes and I wasn’t keen on the performances by Hot Chip or Daniel Lanois. But that’s just personal taste.

The Idles, Khruangbin, The War on Drugs, Hiromi and PJ Harvey were all amazing. Fred Everything was surprisingly amazing too… total curve ball from what I expected from him. Amazingly well prepared and a genuinely interesting live set. Very talented.

I’m going to mention The Idles again because that performance is just so raw and amazing. It’s akin to sitting in on the studio recording of Pixies Santa Rosa album. I love how Tiny Desk is miced and recorded for bands like this. It actually sounds better (much better) than the Idles albums tracks… or for my tastes anyway. They should record this raw more often, it really suits their style.

EDITED: to be more positive :slightly_smiling_face:

Lolz. This is one of the greatest performances of all time in any setting of some of the greatest lyrics. So I wholeheartedly disagree.
