#novembeat challenge - 16 bars of music per day in November

I did this a few years ago, and it seems like there are even more people participating this year:

The idea:

:musical_score:16 or so bars of music
:musical_keyboard:Every day in November
:microphone:Posted wherever you want
:loud_sound:Tagged #novembeat

https://twitter.com/search?q=novembeat&f=live

There is also a website now: https://novembeat.com

I’ll be participating, making heavy use of some Elektron gear (octatrack, digitone, and heat)

Sounds good! I like challenges like this. In the past I have done the Thing A Day in February. Some years I would do visual art, and other years I would do music. The years I did music I would usually come away with an albums worth of material.

thanks  its fun. I am actually not very good about creating short throwaway stuff every day, but I think it’s a good chance to sorta focus on quickly shipping stuff in a more focused way.

For sure, and you can look at them as sketches, and maybe come back later to build upon some of the ideas.

Cool that you are doing this. I’m someone else that enjoys the challenge of these sorts of things albeit that I’m way to late to the party for Novembeat. I am hoping to be in the position to partake in the February Album Writing Month where I’ll be using it as an opportunity to explore some more outré ideas.

What’s the little box in the lower right-hand corner, some sort of controller?

Midi fighter twister from dj tech tools

It’s controlling the mod wheel inputs to the digitone. I have mod and BC for each of the four tracks of the digitone mapped to he bottom 8 knobs of the twister, it lets me have 2 macro knobs per synth track basically :+1:
