There are a few mentions of breakcore and similar slice chopping but I figured I’d post something to try to get more info + bring some of the others into the fold.
So I had been inspired by Stanzma’s walkthrough video on how Ableton is set up + the midi fighter. I was wondering if we knew how to do similar in OT.
My current setup is OTmk1, Hapax, BomeBox, and a cheap 16pad 2 fader midi controller. I have the OT AB input from the tr8s, and CD input from a Tascam mixer with all the melodics. The project loaded has 6 banks of EZBot performance templates loaded into it. I have the BomeBox running a custom script that is allowing the 16 pads to change the 16 pattern buttons quickly. I can also scroll parts and banks to access further templates.
The goal is to have breaks samples loaded into a bank, be able to launch them with the pads, and have different types of fx for the pads - tape stop, drills, rolls, reverb throws, etc.
I believe I want to create slices or a break, set a trig at 1 to set the sample, use the LFO start and slice functions to change the slices?
