Okay,
So I’ve been well into Wolff Parkinson White’s output for years or some may know him as Jochem Reuckert, phenomenal drummer and programmer of some of my favourite stuff ever.
Anyways, his tracks are sometimes peppered with samples, one of which the source has eluded me. Haunts me. The other day I heard John Denver belting out a song and instantly recognised his voice as responsible for this tracks main sample source!
So please, can anyone identify the song/track for me???
I’d be ever so grateful… slips in around 1.25
Googled “what’s that thing on his head john denver” and got “Sunshine on my Shoulders”
Welcome, thanks, and sorry, that’s not it!
What VST or hardware does he use for his drum programming? Really digging his bandcamp page after seeing this thread.
To be honest I think it’s a laptop and samples, no idea which DAW.
With his jazz drumming background and layers of time signatures it makes for pleasurable listening.
I love his stuff, though I must admit I was let down to see his next release features singers. Hoping for an instrumental version maybe
Great stuff!
Lyrics match up with this song:
YES! That’s it! Wooooooooooo!
At last!
Thank you so so much!
Not John Denver then
Can I ask where/how you know this from? @kippertoffee
(There is a shout out to the Front Lawn in the comments.)
Oh man, not watched the official video properly before as I normally whack the flac
Thank you though, I feel so silly now, right under my nose the whoooooooooooole time
Good stuff
Cheers.
I actually just googled the first line i heard in the song, something like - why is he drinking by himself - i think
I’m certainly no big fan John Denver or whoever tf this band is! Although i think probably the best wedding “speech” i ever saw was a dad singing a lovely John Denver song with an acoustic guitar.
Digging the tune you posted. Reminds me of Chromecylinderboxunfolding by venetian snares a bit.
Hah! Well thanks anyway, appreciate the time you took!
And yes it’s been said that WPW sounds like VS and it’s probably no coincidence that HCCBU is one of my favourite ever albums !
