Very happy A4, AR and OT owner here. I didn’t pick up the OT until recently and have had the hardest time wrapping my head around this one as it does so much. I was fine until yesterday, I’m not sure what happened when I turned it on but the project is reacting differently (I’m sure I did something, what? I have no idea.) I’ve searched this problem far and wide into the manual and online and nothing… I’m probably using the wrong terminology or keywords here…
The issue:
AR is the master clock and the A4 is chained to it followed by OT. All sequencers are moving along except for the OT, it shows the play and EXT symbols but for some odd reason if I hit the trigs it just plays whatever I have on TRKS 1-8… I know I’m gonna feel stupid when one of you guys school me here… but man, I don’t know what it is about the OT I cannot wrap my head around it… but it is awesome lol
Yes it’s already set and OT is receiving midi messages.
Hmmm… Ok I’ll try to clear this up. Example:
When I remove Midi Receive I have zero issues and you can see the sequencer on the OT cycling as it should. When I chain it and hit play on the AR the OT confirms this by showing it is playing and stopping with the chain however no cycling of it’s sequencer.
It’s so weird because up until yesterday it was working fine.
hey dimitrimax did you try unchecking the AUDIO CC IN and AUDIO NOTE IN boxes and setting the rest of the parameters to INT on the midi control settings on the OT?
starting from that setting and then trying various combinations as per your needs (not sure what you wish to send other than clock and transpose) to the OT should fix your problems.
When I had my OP-1 controlling the OT there was definitely some weird CCs that i was unaware of initially that forced me to explore these settings further, if it didn’t happen initially I am certain this should solve your problem.
I think that you have the plays free setting on. Maybe… I am a bit confused by the question.
Function and bank without the recorder on. (If I recall correctly)
TRIG MODEcontrols how the track should react when it is being trigged. This setting is only available when the PLAYS FREEsetting is activated. •ONE will make the track start playing once the [TRIG]key initiating trigging of the track is pressed. The playback of the track will be restarted when pressing the button again. To stop the playback of the track [STOP]needs to be pressed. •ONE2 will make the track start playing once the [TRIG]key initiating trigging of the track is pressed. The playback of the track can be stopped either by pressing the button again or by pressing [STOP]. •HOLD will make the track play for as long as [TRIG]key initiating track playback for the chosen track is pressed and held. Playback of the track will stop when the button is released. TRIG QUANTis only available when the PLAYS FREEsetting is activated. It allows both quantized start and stop of the playback of the tracks. Note that the sequencer needs to be playing for this setting to have any effect. The TRIG MODEsetting, covered above, also affects the how the [TRIG]keys will control the playback. Choose between the TRIG QUANTsettings with the LEVELencoder. •DIRECT will make a disconnected track start playing as soon as the corresponding [TRIG]key initiating track playback is pressed. •TR. LEN will quantize the start and stop of the disconnected track according to the total length of the track. •1/16… will quantize the start and stop of the disconnected track according to set step length. If the chosen value starts to blink that indicates the value, depending on whether NORMAL or PER TRACK scale is active, exceeds either the length of the pattern or the set master length. The track quantization will then will then be set either according to the pattern length or the master length, again depending on active scale mode.
