I’m new to the connections of the a4. I Don’t have any more inputs to connect the a4 outputs to my mixer. Can I connect my RYTM to the analog four via the LR inputs on the a4 and get sounds out of both machines on the a4 output? Trying to understand what those LR inputs are on the a4. Thanks…
You could but it would use up two of your A4 tracks since you have to use the L and R inputs on separate tracks to keep the stereo info.
It does not use up 2 of your A4 tracks, just using the ext in.

It’ll work fine. 
In the FX track, go to the Ext In page. (The same button would take you to the Osc 1 page on tracks 1-4) There you can bring in and pan the left and right input channels, and send them to effects.

a4 inputs:
the left input is for you mono synth thas plays a bass line.
in the FX track (under track 4) you can see that you can either pan the input hard left, or hard right to your liking … or add some delay chorus reverb to it …
you also have another input for your other mono synth that plays a lead … again pan it to your liking ,and add effects …
if you dont have 2 mono synths, but actually a nice stereo synth, you can plug the Left and Right stereo synth channels into your A4, into the Left and Right inputs accordingly, pan those inputs hard left and hard right (or just leave stereo, I do not recommend) and add some fx … bear in mind this is all for the FX track (under track 4)
now
you could also run your external inputs through TRack 1 and Track 2 , but keep that for a later time, it is more confusing… (must set osc to zero, osc 2 to input, also put trigs in sequencer)

I find the other way around more useful for setting up a “mix” with my AR and A4. The input on the AR has no settings so it’s “on” all the time (compared to the A4 where you have to set the EXT settings) and the big win in my book is to let the A4 hit the AR compressor.
Took a while but now I’m starting to be friends with the AR compressor.
AK in to the AR for me too. But it’s a pretty weak signal in my opinion. Also found the inputs on the A4/K to be pretty quiet/low too. Will do for now until Overbridge arrives!
