Hi chaps.
Hope I’m not boring you all with a topic that has been posted many times before but here goes…
I’ve had my A4 for almost a year and I love it but now I want to use it to sequence my modular set up that I’ve just started. At the moment I just have a Mutant Bassdrum module.
I’ve set the CV track to trigger and inserted a 1/4 to 3.5mm jack cable into my A4 with the 3.5mm end plugged into the “trig” of the Mutant bass drum but although i’ve inserted steps on the step sequencer… It doesn’t seem to trigger the bass drum.
Obviously I’m doing something wrong here. I’ve read about needing specific cables but have also read that standard audio cables should be fine for my purposes.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Read that:

Helped me a lot.
Maybe the trig is on B not A, check the settings.
Like Klerc said, I bet you it’s just the wrong CV channel (A vs. B). Otherwise, all seems fine. I think by default the trig send +5V and that’s more than enough to trig the hex inverter drums.
Will try and follow the set up TrabanT posted but just in case… I’ve made a video of the setup to see if anyone can sport what I’m doing wrong.
Cheers guys!
so… put the thing in the thing… the cable looks all right… it has 1 which splits in to 2 … here comes the first tricky part! …
the RING IS RED IS RIGHT …in your cv config… the same button as OSC1 on the CV track (under fx track) you have to hit FUNKTION and CV A to start configuring it … when you press YES (not the trigs in the sequencer) your CV gear should get triggered … and as I said with the tricky part in the beginning,… if you have the wrong cable from the y cable plugged in, it will do jack shit …
man, love your accent, and the friendly way you asked for help, so I type these lines…
also cudos for having a camera that can focus on the A4 display… my cam couldnt do that … could maybe help you further, pm me… i do not have any modular experience though…
rule of thumb from a silly noob like me: if the voltage is below 7 V nothing should break… dont quote me on that one, I keep telling myself that… so far has worked …
also make sure speakers are up and running so you dont misinterpret …
