Noise when sounds cancel each other

I’ve noticed that when I have two sounds, on pads in the same mute-group, or whatever Elektron calls it (like RS + CP) - one sound does not just cancel the other, it can dramatically screw it up.

For example, I have a juicy filtered blip sound on the RS pad, and a clap on the CP pad. When the CP cuts off the sound of the RS pad, there is a gunshot like sound produced, which neither pad can make on it’s own.

I ‘think’ these pads share the same amp envelope or something, that causes this loud pop instead of one sound just muting the other.

Has anyone else heard this sort of thing?

I think it means I have to be more picky about what sounds go on what pads.

its not a mute group, the two sounds actually use the same oscillators! thats why they cannot sound together. work around the glitches with envs/microtiming or use em to your advantage :alien:
