Was working on a pattern in part 2 a pattern with two scenes. Decided to move it to part 3. Done and viola… No there is no sound from that pattern. All levels are checked. Can’t grasp what just happened…
Hmm… Could you describe the problem in more detailes? It is unclear (for me) what do you want to do.
Patern doen’t containes scenes. Scenes and set of samples store in Parts. One part is always assigned to pattern.
If you want to assign another part to the same pattern, you have to just select needed part [FUNC + MIDI]. If new part is empty – you have to assign samples for tracks first. Or you can just copy old part to empty part’s slot by navigating to parts menu [FUNC + MIDI], selecting old part, pressing [FUNC + REC] and pasting it to empty slot [FUNC + STOP]. In this case all settings and samples set will be saved to new part. You can adjust it for your taste. If you want to create new pattern, you can either copy existing pattern to new location (part will be the same as in initial pattern) or just switch pattern to empty and place some trigs. Be sure which part is assignet for this new pattern! If you want to use another samples than in initial pattern, you have to use new part or use sample-locks.
Was in a hurry this morning
Was working on a pattern wich was saved to Part 2. Saved it to Part 3 instead. (to clear some space in Part 2 scene slots) Copied the scenes I was using for that pattern to Part 3. And now there is no sound when playing that pattern.
It seems that you’re confusing terminology.
Pattern can’t be saved to Part X. Part X can be assigned to the pattern.
Pattern is a number of trigs and parameters/sample-locks, its length and so on. Part “consists” samples from sound pool assigned to tracks, scenes, fx, etc…
If I understood you right, you have to
- copy one pattern to another position (in this case all trigs and p-locks will be copied). Part will remains the same which was assigned in the initial pattern. If you press play – you hear the same as in initial pattern.
- If you want to use samples from the initial pattern but change only scenes, you have to copy old part to the next part as I described you in my previous message. And assign new part to current pattern. After that you can change your scenes.
Ok…let me but it this way…
I was working on a Pattern a3 with track parameters from part 2. Decided I wanted to save my track parameters wich was first saved on Part 2 to Part 3. To clear up my scene bank in Part 2.
Saved the track parameters to Part 3. Then copied the scenes I used in Part 2 for pattern a3, to Part 3.
When all this was done no sound was coming from pattern a3. All my samples are still there , sound levels are the same as before, trigs etc. Scenes got copied in full. Everything looks in order. But when playing the pattern there is no sound.
Dunno can’t make it more clear then that.
