I have a snare sample dedcated to track 1 …that plays no problem.
I have a kick on track 2 and hats on 3. All static.
I have a midi pattern on 4 that’s sequencing my dx 7
and am playing my juno 6 thru a flex machine on track 5.
I can’t hear playback on track 2 and 3. I can’t find any distinctive parameters from track 1 and am at a loss for why there’s no playback.
I don’t really like the solution of starting a fresh project everytime I encounter a problem on the octo…Any thoughts??
I noticed that static tracks 2 and 3 are recording automatically… Static Track 1 is not recording automatically but working properly.
…I haven’t pressed any record buttons.
Please help.
They are green and red, not muted. I do not beleive they are cued as they would be flashing?
Do you have a record trig set accidentally?

I cleared Trigs and Patterns. Seems I had the RATE slightly off and made the tracks silent. It fixed the problem but I lost my midi pattern. So i’m basically starting from scratch again lol. Freck.
You can undo clear doing it again.
You can also copy / paste pattern before clearing one.
You can change part, you’ll get default settings, keeping pattern trigs.
Rate = 0, no sound.
Maybe, but a lot of people usually mess with all parameters without knowing what they do, and need help after, asking is their Octatrack is buggy. Hard to tell which parameters are responsable of the “no sound” syndrome, without a NEW PROJECT !
You can copy parts and patterns between projects.
You make a valid point. I should refrain from making comments when feeling emotional or frustrated about the octo. New projects is good way to trouble shoot for sure.

Don’t, sometimes it’s funny !
Maybe good for mental health if you don’t find !
Another solution is to copy / paste a non modified track to get default parameters, but you loose trigs. If you don’t want to loose trigs, you can clear pages (page + Play).
PS : for short sounds like drums, I’d use Flex.
You got to pay some dues to run an OT, but it’s sooooooo worth it…
Take your time, go slow, do less at once, expect things not to make sense, your OT is not broken…
Read the manual, explore an area at a time while referencing the manual until that area makes more sense… Practice, do new stuff, have fun, hit a wall again, read manual more… Slowly but surely with some effort and perseverance, it will start to click, and you will be really glad you put up with the initial struggles, and you will have loads of fun…
-P.S. The OT is extremely logical and every single little thing it does (eventually) can be understood why it’s like that. And then it’s rock n roll…
-P.S.P.S. only you will know all the parameters you’ve set, so we might not be able to tell you what’s happening if things are to complicated, best to get forum help for small areas/functions/techniques where all parameters involved can be easily comunicated. As you learn more about all the functions and parameters and how things interact, eventually you can figure out behaviors by yourself…
