No playback in Logic X with Rytm

Hi everyone.

I have a problem that had me pulling my hair for some time. The AR won’t playback with logic X when using multitimbral instrument.

To start with I’ll describe what gear I’m using. I have a midi interface with 4 midi ports. AR is connected to port 1 with a Mbass 11 connected on the through port (ch16). An A4 connected to port 2 and other hardware on port 3 and 4. Everything connected with midi cables not USB.

I have set up the AR as a 15ch multitimbral instrument with 8 mono audio tracks to record audio. I have managed to get AR to record midi to separate midi tracks, but it won’t playback midi to the AR when playing back in Logic. Although I think I have located a, or the problem. When I created the multitimbral track I never got to select what midi port AR is supposed to use. I can’t find this option any ware. I have the same problem with my A4. So I’m thinking this is the problem but I can’t find the solution to see if this is the only problem in my set up. I am also thinking that the solution is to set up a instrument in Logic’s environment window, but I am not sure how to.

Just to to make this clear. The hardware I have connected to port 3 and 4 is set up with Logics external instrument plugin and works just fine with playback.

All you other people out there who uses the AR with Logic are welcome to suggest the smoothest way to work with the AR.

I use Logic 9 and had much better results using USB instead of regular MIDI connections for Analog Rytm and Analog Keys, even the timing is a lot tighter that way. Analog Rytm will automatically show up in your instrument list.

OK. I’ll try connecting it to USB so I at least can find it. Unfortunately I have a lack of USB ports. But I will try this as soon as I can.
