How are you playing this one day before release? Or is it already December 4th where you live?
I just downloaded Metroid 4. Only have switch 1 but as i played Super Metroid as a kid i won’t complain about the graphics. I know i’ll hate the npc’s and the stupid bike but i think i’ll like everything else. Ok, the shrines can probably go f themselves too.
I wish they would have gone with only Samus on a lonely planet. But whatever. I just gotta play a new Metroid when it comes out.
From what I’ve read it actually runs really well on the switch 1 and looks gorgeous.
This is truly remarkable that all of the reviewers stressed how great it looks. Maybe that’s a bit of the Nintendo bias and the broader public will be more brutal, but it’s still such a great example of how you really only need good art direction and make the right design choices so that the engine can handle what’s happening. I’m incredibly excited to see what Retro can do with Switch 2 next, they seemingly don’t need more power to make one of the best looking games ever next!
Yeah man we live in the future down under ![]()
very generic thoughts about the first hour, no spoilers for people who have paid even the slightest amount of attention to the other posts in the thread
So I’ve only played the opening hour or so but holy shit I’m loving it, and the NPC people have a lot of problems with isn’t as annoying as I feared, though I would definitely prefer he not exist.
not enough exclusives yet for the switch 2 interest me to buy one yet.
Watched some reviews now on Metroid 4. Naaa, its not for me. Those sidekicks and this open world desert put me off.
Current Progress
I’m about half way in. It’s been decent so far, although rumour has it that it falls off the rails from about this point. I haven’t quite hit that point and am still enjoying it. The 3rd main dungeon set piece felt a lot more ‘action’ and kind’ve on rails imo. Although, it was quite cool looking, but there was quite a bit of cut scene bouncing for a second there, and trigger spam. If I’m honest I prefer the more puzzling aspects of Metroid Prime than combat, so I hope there’s some more of that.
I really enjoy Metroid Prime 4.
Speech Volume: 0
Subtitles: Off
Music: 0
Sometimes i switch on the music if it’s more droney and psychedelic. Some of the high synth melody sequences are just too poppy and don’t fit the atmosphere imo.
With Speech volume it feels pretty good. I hate seeing the npc’s faces (especially the one we all know) but it makes it way more bearable for me. It’s like i’m an alien that doesn’t understand their language.
The gameplay is great and even though i’m playing on switch 1 it looks freakin amazing. Best looking game on switch 1 imo.
I’m actually surprised how much fun i’m having.
Yeah I have Music on about 40%, I found it was a bit loud, the rest I’m good with ![]()
