NiftyKEYZ Eurorack Keyboard from Cre8audio

You’re talking about the velocity CV output ( ? )
I will assume you are.

Think about the MIDI Note On message. It has two pieces of data, the note and the velocity. It is immediately active when received. After that both those two pieces of data never change.

So on the NiftyKEYZ with CV, when a note is played, gate goes high, and the Velocity CV represents the velocity of that note. When the next note is played that note’s gate goes high, and the Velocity CV is then the velocity of that note.

All the data is there, for CV, it is just in a different format than on the Keystep Pro.

An aside – Cre8audio is going to be at Superbooth 2025 with at least two new Eurorack products. One can always hope.

( I know you’re having fun. )

If someone actually wants an alternative to the SV-2 sort of thing happening in a keyboard, one with 48 keys, as opposed to 37, and a real sequencer, you have 112 HP in the NiftyKEYZ, room for two SV-1b modules. for four note synthesis, and still have Eurorack space left over.

I found used SV-1b units on-line for $500 USD. So for close to the same cost of the new SV-2 keyboard, you could buy the NiftyKEYZ and the two SV-1bs, plus.

If you are ready to wait, getting the SV-1 Minis ( i assume they are Eurorack ) and you will have even more room. No word yet on price for the Minis.

Remember too that Cre8audio and Pittsburgh Modular are corporately related.

Still want a poly-aftertouch NiftyKEYZ !
