Just trying this with my friend at weekend.
Traktor using S8 controller as master > Midi Out of S8 > Midi In on AR.
Now this sends and keeps tempo really well.
However AR is just a little late so kicks dont perfectly line up on top of each other.
On traktor you can offset the midi clock by a positive value (in ms) but this makes it worse. Whats really needed is a negative offset. This would be best solution but sadly not there.
What he had to do on the s8 was use the track nudge strips on every track to nudge them (away from his “normal” synced position)…a little annoying having to nudge every track by pretty much same amount if clock could do it tightly… Im sure ableton live allows both +ve and -ve midi offest amounts.
Anybody got any other ideas on how to just get these perfectly synced… Think ill try USB midi next time…
