Newbie Question Analog Keys Overbridge and Logic

Sorry if this is me missing something but i want to be able to create patches using the overbridge/analog keys plugin in Logic, just because i find the interface much easier in the plugin view, rather than using the tiny screen. My plan is to create a bunch of sounds in plugin mode, then switch to the analog keys sequencer for creating ideas and sequencing my sounds.

The problem i’m having is the plugin interface doesn’t seem to change the patch on analog keys, and i also seem unable to preview the patch from inside logic. changing any parameter in the plugin doesn’t seem to communicate with the hardware and change the patch

Am i missing something obvious? Could anyone give me some helpful steps to get this workflow going??!

Its the thing i’m struggling with the most, saving kits/sounds/patterns etc seems completely un-intuitive at the moment and im constantly losing stuff that ive made, incredibly frustrating.

But i absolutely love it still!

Did you create a midi track in Logic for the AnalogKeys?

Also, you didn’t update to the latest AnalogKeys OS did you? That won’t work with the current OB. Stupid move on Elektrons side.

I updated to 1.24c which says it is compatible

I must have created an instrument track to load the plugin, does it need an external midi track as well?

Im at work but will have another go later to see if im missing something obvious - i cant remember if i set the analog keys to overbridge mode on the synth, i may have just assumed it was plug and play

Thanks for the response though.

Should the workflow i listed work in principle? If I at least know that i can have a fiddle with settings etc

OB USB mode helps for sure. And yeh, it’s pretty much a matter of tweaking the AnalogKeys or the OB interface , and you can save patches in OB and send it to the AnalogKeys.

Weird thing is, I didn’t have to create midi tracks for the AnalogFour or AnalogRytm (literally was plug and play), but when my AnalogKeys didn’t talk to OB the tech support said I had to create midi tracks for each of the AnalogKeys 4 tracks (in Ableton), which worked.
I’d like to take a closer look, but I’ve put the AnalogKeys away in its box. For sale! I only use the AnalogRytm now.

Rumour has it, the new OB could be stand-alone, which would be a step forward for us who don’t want to play with DAWs.

That was the main reason i went with the keys, so i can just stick headphones in and play rather than always having to hit my studio and have loads of gear set up all the time.

going to have a play later and see if i can spot the issue, but thanks for your help
