Hey Elektronauts just released an album of some Teenage Engineering Pocket Operator beats! If you’ve been wondering what you can do with these little guys, have a listen!

Really, really good stuff. Was any Elektron gear used (eg: loops tracked into an Octa). Or did you use a DAW?

More questions, did you make a bunch of patterns and then jam with them to make each track? I ask as I’m going to make some PO tracks and wondering how to best go about doing it.

Was thinking about tracking each PO into an OP-1 and then using the 4th Track for the OP-1.

Options. Options.

Thanks so much homie! No Elektron gear on this one, just all three PO’s being clocked by Trigger Box on an iPhone. All the inputs go into a mixer and then are two-tracked straight to Ableton. No FX ITB or OTB other than Master Limiting. I really wanted to JUST PO IT (and I just realized that should have been the name of the album …damn).
So, ya to start I would create a pattern on each unit. I used the volumes on each unit to bring parts in and out and give the song some structure. For each track I would usually do two passes, one just the song really plain in some kind of song structure, and the other a jam tweak fest. I would make a composite of both jams for each track.
The real fun of these things will come in sampling in the OP-1/Daw, layer ing into your productions. I just wanted to challenge myself for this one, it was fun and I like where the POs lead me.
Cheers man, thanks for checking it out!

Made a little vid.

Thanks for the breakadown, was super useful to read how you approached it. Is also inspiring to know that it’s all just PO’s. Nice.

I purchased that and Neon Waves. :+1:

Hey congrats man, you made the Teenage Engineering newsletter!

Thanks homie! That made my day! Also, really appreciate the support!

Nicely done, VF. :+1:
Thanks for sharing.

Expertly crafted and strangely cinematic. Bit of a Monomachine timbre to those little gadgets.
Well done!
