Yeah, I’m guessing ‘no’ on that too but it seems an odd move to just basically reissue the 14 (which I don’t think flew off the shelves all that quickly, but maybe they didn’t need/expect it to) unless they’ve found a way to bring the cost way down maybe. I’d love to see true duophony on something like this though, it’s such a rare thing.

The Vermona 14 thread got hyped few weeks ago, the interest in that Synth is real. Has Vermona felt the hype?
is it? seems they took 4 years to sell around 225 units. not exactly flying off the shelves.
I think it’s an appreciated synth, for good reason. and maybe just now that the special edition is done they’re doing a standard one. but I don’t think people are exactly clamoring for it. maybe at a lower price though…?

To me it feels more like a flagship product, designed to attract attention to the company. Not something they expect to sell volumes of.
It amazes me (and makes me happy) that Vermona is holding up. Most of their products are quite old, they rarely introduce new products, and I don’t think they have any big sellers. Look at the Mono Lancet, it’s 2,5 times the price of a Model D…

And you can buy 8 Lancet '15s (or 16 Behringer Model D’s) for the price of 1 Minimoog or … But I’m not sure what that tells us? Other than the obvious bits about economies of scale, quality of materials, costs of labor in different parts of the world, etc.
Vermona is definitely a small company – less than 10 employees I think. I would guess that like many small companies, COVID and the associated supply issues were a real hit to the pace of development.
They actually released three new products this year (four if you count this Vermona '24 tease) – all in the eurorack space. Before that I think their most recent release was the DRM1 MkIV in 2021, and a bunch of eurorack stuff in the 2018-2019 time frame.

I didn’t know. That’s great news to me, and hopefully an indication that they’re doing fine.
Don’t get me wrong, I love Vermona for their sound, feel, quality and slightly oddball products. I’m impressed that they hang in there considering the competition.

The 14 got some interest for sure, but really it was a niche thing. 222 of them were built, the first ones were sold in 2016 and the last four in November 2024.
I’m quite sure this 24 is nothing but a 14 in a black dress… which is a an excellent news anyway because -really- it is a damn good instrument. It would have been a pity if it had remained a privilege for some and a miss for many others.
