New to Octatrack, few questions about looping sound-on-sound

I have grasped the simplest way to loop - using a one-shot record trig, then playing it.

What I am hoping to do next is figure out how to do a ‘sound on sound’ loop where sounds will add onto a looping channel. I don’t want to get too extreme, but mainly want to use this so the “tail” of a recording will carry over onto the bar.

Is this possible at all in an easy way? If not, what are the steps for doing this in a more complicated way.

What you’re talking about is called “overdub”

Get your recording track to sample Cue.
Route the Flex track which plays the sample to Cue and same for the Track that carries your source.
Should do the trick

And about the tail carrying on during the next bar, you might want to look seriously into @Tarekith’s video about transition trick…
