New to MIDI, need help connecting things

Hi!

New Elektronaut here. :wave: I recently bought the Digitakt mostly out of hype, and apart from my OP-1, I’ve always worked inside Ableton. But I frigging love the Digitakt and now I’m curious to go (semi) DAW-less. However I’m surprisingly overwhelmed with MIDI cable stuff.

This is the gear I want to wire up:

  • Digitakt
  • OP1
  • USB Midi Host
  • Arturia Keystep
  • Ableton (merely to send MIDI notes, but also some Audio FX)
  • Upcoming: Minibrute 2s

And if it helps, I still have a MIDI Thru (1 in, 4 out). I had it kinda working yesterday, but somehow the Keystep was giving the Tempo. I’d rather have the Digitakt as the “brain” and I’d like to be able to send MIDI notes to the OP1 from the Keystep.
