I was thinking about the « blank space » in the picture. The musician has a TR-1000 and there’s a blank space for what keeps the performance going. If I need to transition and switching patterns on the TR-1000 is getting repetitive then I would need a sampling workstation that can handle more sample triggering and longer sample time. A groove box / sampling workstation with longer looping would make sense in that space of a performance.
As much as I want a Jupiter-1000 or SH-1000, a sampling workstation might be where this is headed.

The sensitivity of accordion keyboards is legendary. They feel great to play, very responsive, with excellent dynamics.
It’s beautiful to see the different stages of the build.

So I found this accordion in my uncle’s attic after he passed, wrapped up in a moving blanket like a body, no joke. Turns out it’s an Excelsior Concerto IV, hand built in Italy back in 1962, apparently only 200 of these were ever made and most got destroyed in a factory fire that same year. I posted about it just trying to figure out what it’s worth. Within a few hours some guy in Oslo offered me $4,000 without even seeing it in person, a woman in Texas said her grandfather played one on a cruise ship and started crying when she saw my photos, and then someone in the replies claimed my uncle stole this thing from a museum in Bologna back in the 90s???
I have no idea what to believe at this point. I still haven’t sold it.

Before electronics, the bellows were the most sensitive part.
From the beginning, good care and maintenance were very important to keep the accordion working well.
AI will not change this basic instrument design. It goes back to the Middle Ages.
