New Roland Hardware!

Oliver Bondzio from Hardfloor has stated that Roland are visiting them from Tokyo to present their new Hardware prototypes.

Now I wonder what that could be?

:joy:

Seems like itā€™s not the only oneā€¦

Please let it be a 909 re-issueā€¦then 808ā€¦then anything else in their vintage stable. Analog resurgence going mainstream now!

Or perhaps they will release new machines that are so amazing it will explain what on earth they have been doing for the last 25years.

A hardware emulation of the Props Rebirth, called Roland ReReBirth, would be just alright! Or something super-amazing from 25 years in the lab as Nein suggested! (I doubt that very much, and think that Roland at best just woke up to realize that demand for their vintage stuff is huge).

Yes I was being sarcastic. I entirely agree that they have just woken up.

Janet, my ears are burning!

Hopefully it wonā€™t be a reissue of old gear. Maybe Iā€™m just tired of the fetishization of old gear, but I want to see new innovative products.

I personally would prefer it if they re-issue stuff (then at least Iā€™ll know itā€™s good). If I want innovative, I stick with Elektron and boutique synth makers.

If they do a 909 or 808 re-issue, like Korg did MS-20, it will sell like hotcakes. I just canā€™t see Roland coming up with something innovative and new, but thatā€™s just me (accordions anyone?)

Duke Nukem Forever

Iā€™d disagree - JP8080, VP9000, SP808EX, Vsynth XT & GT, Integra-7, XV-5080 and the Jupiter 80 are all incredibly good instruments with very good sounding synth engines / features that are capable of a hell of a lot.
They may not be what the current market is into at the moment (i.e.: all things analog) but they are all very good tools and capable of superb results in the right hands.

Yeah like I say I was being sarcastic in saying that.

It is true that recently they have been left lagging if you compare them to Korg but who knows what they have up there sleeve (most likely to astound and surprise us, well hopefully anyway).

Hereā€™s a link to what is coming: http://www.rolandus.com/products/category/446

Source ? Nothing on his twitter or facebook accounts, unless I missed it, or on the Hardfloor accounts. and googling only returns this thread.

Wooohooo! Analog + Polyphonicā€¦with a keyboardā€¦wasnā€™t that what everyone was asking for? :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Pacou has been using and posting demos of his new TT303 on facebook in the last day or so. He has also been saying how he thought Roland had slept on it for too long. In response to this Oliver Bondzio said that he would be presented with New Roland Hardware Prototypes in Germany in the near future.

I would love to see Hardfloor rock out on one of these!!!

Amazing 1400 presets and itā€™s digitalā€¦

Thanks for the confirmation Nein, I feel more comfortable about telling friends about it now  I hope Roland get this right!

Groooovy

Guess this explains why Hardfloor was unable to play in Vancouver Saturday night :stuck_out_tongue:
Itā€™s ok, we had a good time anywaysā€¦
