The TRS/XLR sockets on my old FireFace 400 would accept separate signals at both interfaces… Presumably they do that on newer models too. Might get you four more inputs…

Although that makes little sense now I read it back. Maybe it was the balanced and high-z inputs… but this new box doesn’t have hi-z…

I’ll stop talking crap now. It’s too late.

I count 60 channels of I/O, 30 each way:

  • 4 mic ins (4 channels)
  • 8 6.3mm ins (8 channels)
  • 8 6.3mm outs (8 channels)
  • 2 headphones (4 channels)
  • AES/EBU I/O (4 channels)
  • 2 ADAT in, 2 ADAT out - (32 channels)

Although does anyone actually use AES?

Also better than other manufacturers who im sure I have seen count midi and word clock i/o as part of the total i/o count.

Im glad I’ve never ran into that :grinning:

20 channel interface.

Its a stereo I/O with a midi port.

Looks alright, RME always brings quality to the table.

That said, does anyone know if these new RME interfaces (UFX 3 & this one) can be daisy chained?

Genelec monitors have AES inputs and outputs, as do other models I’m sure.
