New project opens with samples loaded

Hi all,

On Digitakt 2, when I go: Load project > Empty project, it is blank, except for the sample pool. Always the same samples are loaded, I believe they are from the factory project that you start with on first boot.

So, I have to remove them manually each time I load a new project, seems odd behaviour. Anyone recognizes this? Is there a permanent solution?

Make a new project with all the default settings you want, save it and lock it.

Then use that every time you make a new project.

This is like a custom template

Yeah, thanks, I know about that. But still wondering why those samples remain in the init project.

Maybe to avoid complains like “there is no sound, wtf!” :content:

It does it on dt1
And I think many of the other devices … ( loading with some default sounds / samples )

It also has a default tempo , fx settings etc.
not sure I would want to setup everything each time.

Just the way it is.

Make your own init project without the samples.

I have an init project with no samples plus settings for the compressor and routings, tempo, swing, and midi sync. Saves a ton of time.

Alright, still feels like an odd design, but I will start using a template anyway. Thanks guys.
