New overbridge is imminent - are you prepared?

So with Q4 just around the corner I’ve been thinking a good bit about how overbridge is going to affect my production workflow. I spent some time today modifying the Logic Pro project template I use for production to accommodate the new capabilities overbridge will bring. I’m looking forward to having control over all parameters of the A4 with DAW automation. I’m also very excited to have separate tracks coming in so I can route them to various plugins and other gear individually.

What are some new workflow possibilities that you guys are excited to explore with overbridge? All you folks with synths that already have DAW integration - what are some lessons from those other synth platforms (e.g. Access TI, DSI synths) that you’ll want to carry over to your Elektrons?

The future is almost here! All my long-lived dreams are coming true - DAW integrated analog synths, new Aphex Twin records, a (hopefully) good Star Wars sequel, a new Murakami novel, maybe half-life 3 soon?

Of couse at the NAMM show they had to say something. I am following Elektron now since day one and they NEVER stick to their first date announcements. If you add a couple of months you are close to the truths. Happens with the Rytm, A4, OT and so on.

Also I expect them to release a basic version first. Hopefully multitrack USB and interface capabilities. Then the VST for control later. Or something like that. Who knows maybe you need it all to work together,

I can’t recall a release from anyone that said Q4 and didn’t come in December (or late)!

I could be wrong on the dates, but I think Cenk did a feature with Sonic State in April of this year where he subtlety mention that Overbridge would be out early next year. Maybe I’m not that concerned because I don’t have any of the Elektron Analog devices yet, but I wouldn’t get your panties in a twist unless 2015 Q2 passes without it dropping. Better they do it right than rush it out.

i dont know if i’d say its “imminent” and perhaps a bit hard to prepare for when theres not a lot of info about it out yet.

i would say overbridge is far from imminent … the only imminent thing I foresee is overworked swedish employees
