I finally got another OT last week. This one bought brand new, as opposed to my previous used one.
Everything is all good with the machine, but I couldn’t help but notice the lack of a manual. What gives?
Sure I have the PDF I don’t really need a hard copy, but the box still says that a printed manual is included in the box.
Anybody else experience this with a new purchase?
Just bought one this week. OS 1.25 complete with manual inside. Sounds like an error. I’d ask them to send you one if I were you ?
Yep, happened with me with a brand new A4 from Elektron. They sent me it when I queried it.
I think for awhile there they knew a newer manual was coming and didn’t include the older one on purpose. Just drop them an email, they’ll sort you out with the latest version.

According to the Elektron main site, a user manual is not one of the items included with the A4, just a quick start guide. A full manual is listed as included with the OT. I did notice the OT manual is not currently listed for sale as a single item in the Elektron Store.
I like a quality hardcopy manual. I can see at launch that it is not a high priority, but by now I would think the A4 would come with one.
All questions regarding i e accessories, whether included/missing/for sale or not. Should be directed to support basically. Just to avoid misleading information, confusion and/or speculation. The forum isn´t intended as an official supportchannel. Although the line between of what to be considered an supportissue or not in an end-user perspective, can of course be hard to discern sometimes…
As stated on first page:

my A4 only had a ‘quick start guide’. is it how it’s supposed to be?
The A4 i bought used didn’t have one, but the guy said he bought it new, and it didn’t come with a manual, only a quick start guide.
Just remembered about this thread, and it’s even simpler than going to Elektron Support. Just go to their product description page for A4:

So, yeah, no full manual included with A4. I reckon I’ll print the PDF at some point, since I prefer real manuals to electronic PDFs. Maybe after the next big update?
