It’s tough (for me at least) to discern from the various materials released with the new OS what the new functionality is for controlling external synths with the sequencer via MIDI. Can the AF do that now? Any major limitations vs octatrack capabilities, for example?
It has a 1 track CV sequencer, no midi sequencing unfortunately.
Thanks. This is the line that keeps throwing me off:
"Multi map allows custom mapped sounds, pattern trigging and trigging of external MIDI units"
Too good to be true I guess!!
I totally understand the A4 -sequencer- does not midi externally
However, the Analog Keys (same O.S. as A4) supposedly can by using the KEYS control/play other midi synths, WHILE EVEN the A4 sequencer is running from it’s own voices…as a controller, being able to ‘layer’ our other midi synths (nowhere in A4 new ref. manual does this say only Elektron gear…it says other midi devices)…so, would the A4 with same O.S. then allow this as well as my potential purchase of AK? As of yet, do not see reference manual posted for AK, and definitely not all specifics to AK are in new O.S. 1.1b Manual…so here I am a bit confused. Thanks in advance.
It actually has four channels of CV sequencing and between the FX track and the CV track you can sequence / gate two separate CV capable synths.
