I’d tweeted them asking the same thing VF.
Asked if seeing their site had gone from dark to light … if their boxes were going that way too. No answer
Whatever it is, it better not have RGB-led-only-UI elements:

Bingo! Easiest way in the world to do marketing / product ideas…
If that’s the case, then throwing in the inaccuracy of the Tokyo office timeline is a masterful “human” touch

Came to post exactly this. It lets Elektron retire the Mnm/MDUW and take the parts they like and scrap the rest.

I wonder if this picture gives a clue. That screen driven machine in the middle…coffee as well…

I somewhere posted something like this
This box in the background just hints to some sort of mixer-product:
mass of cables on top of all three machines, a controller keyboard or synth and vinyls ->
a hub

FWIW, that’s a Roland SH-101 in the upper left corner of the pic.
hmm so maybe the new box can sequence/sample the 101?

HYPETRAIN!!! WOOO WOOO!
After seeing the video where Cenk clearly states it won’t be Euro I am a little depressed, unlike most here who seem to be happy about it. I’m dying for a Eurotrack or Euromachine lol. Cenk acts like a mixer would be great but seems to act like is isn’t that either. Seems like all we have is hype to go on so far.
The interface idea is a good bet though, a combo of the hub and the midi makes sense for the direction they are going right now. Personally that bores the hell out of me since I don’t need it…meh.
One thought I had recently is that although Elektron has monosynths in the form of multiples in one box, what if they made a supermono one-voice analog-digital hybrid that included a bunch of new “machines” and maybe even some existing ones to cover various forms of synthesis. I could get pretty excited about that…

with other boxes, how much time was there between the announcement and the first delivery?

dunno, but at least I will have more clarity to wait for it or buy something else.
Single voice analog/digital synth(s) is what I’m willing to put my money on as well. More compact with a single 64 step sequencer (w/ trig locks) and still (of course) built like a tank.
Hell, with all the time they have put into perfecting Overbridge and all it’s capabilities… Wouldn’t a few new “toys” be the perfect thing to show off it’s versatility?

I’m inclined to think no sequencer, or max 32 steps for the next thing Elektron releases if it’s less expensive than their other machines and unlike anything they have done before. I’m betting it’ll be FX…If they did an analog filter/distortion thing with Overbridge I’d be quite interested-doubly so if I could patch into my eurorack .
If you think about it, for the first part of Elektron’s history their biggest selling point was their sequencer, but in 2016 there’s enough options out there that can eclipse even the brilliant Elektron approach. Overbridge is their next big selling point, and if they’re currently saying it’s more studio oriented I’d assume it’ll have more of a bent in that direction, although I’m sure it’s perfectly capable for live use without a computer.
